Craft is the action of creating something usually by hand. Crafting takes time and effort and requires precision. Those who are skilled in a specific art normally craft things with great precision and are very meticulous but those who are produce magnificent work. Craft is what follows design. Design is the blue print while craft is the action of producing the design. In Japan, much of what they do are art forms. An example would be forging specifically forging a Katana. Crafting one traditionally takes months to finish because of the preciseness that goes into every detail of these swords. This way of forging is a prime example of why craft is important and how it used with an art form.
